I've figured out how to get out of my blue/purple phase. Just make the image in my normal blue/purple mode that seems to just want to come out, and then invert it in Photoshop. Add some color dodging and burning, and you get glowing green alien bugs cavorting at night or deep sea creatures proudly displaying their bioluminescence. Or whatever sort of image that comes to mind to suit your particular fancy. I wouldn't know about that kind of thing, as I haven't had to wear a fancy suit in quite some time.
